Research Confirms Norman Pattiz’s PodcastOne as the Leading Advertising Firm

Over the last six months, Edison Research conducted the first-ever series of comprehensive market surveys on behalf of PodcastOne. For their case study, the research firm sampled five national consumer brands that advertise with PodcastOne. They assessed the position of these five companies regarding the demand for their products and services, before and after advertising with PodcastOne.

The research methodology was simple. Edison Research began with conducting an online pre-study on the audience listening to the most popular podcasts before the ads were run. The advert for each of the five brands could then be left to run for a month or a month and a half, before proceeding with the post-study. This procedure was repeated for three separate back-to-back post-studies, helping the research firm to gauge the effectiveness of podcast ads accurately. The research findings were made public in February this year by CEO Norman Pattiz of PodcastOne and VP Tom Webster of Edison Research.

Research Findings

The results indicated that the podcast ads impacted positively on the listeners, with most products gaining in terms of popularity in the post-study, compared to the pre-study. The popularity index for particular grocery, financial services, automobile, and garden brands ballooned by 53 percent, 47 percent, 37 percent and 24 percent respectively. Another automobile brand received a 33 percent approval rating in the post-study, gaining by over 15 percent from the pre-study. Some brands, like one lawn and garden product, registered a slight post-study improvement of less than 10 percent. A particular automobile brand recorded a whopping 60 percent gain from the pre-study while a certain casual dining restaurant managed an unprecedented gain of 76 percent among all the correspondents.

Norman’s Take on the Findings

Speaking after releasing the results, CEO Norman Pattiz could not hide his excitement, noting that PodcastOne had always wanted to assess their impact on brands independently. He said that the results confirmed their commitment to providing the best advertising services to their clients. VP Tom Webster, on the other hand, thanked all those who made the research successful, particularly recognizing the five brands that volunteered to be used in the study.
