The Interesting Career of Dr. Scott M. Rocklage

Scott Rocklag became part of 5AM Ventures in 2003 and successfully made it to a managing partner in 2004. Dr. Rocklage has several years of experience in the field of Healthcare Management. Under his leadership, the U.S. Government FDA approved three drugs, namely Cubicin, Teslascan, and Omniscan. Some of the organizations that Dr, Rocklage has worked in include Nycomed Salutar, Salutar & Catalytica, Relypsa, and Novira. He was also the CEO of Cubist Pharmaceuticals.



Besides being a managing partner at 5AM Ventures, Dr. Rocklage holds other key positions at other big companies as well. He is Chairman of the Board in other companies such as Cidara, Kinestral, and Rennovia. He is also a board member of other organizations such as Pulmatrix and Epirus. Dr. Scott Rocklage has also served in the rank of Executive Chairman in other companies such as Semprus and Miikana.



Scott Rocklage attended the University of California (UC) where he pursued a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Chemistry before proceeding to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for his Ph.D. Rocklage was also one of the lucky students to conduct their research projects in the Richard R. Schrock’s laboratory. Richard R. Schrock is well –known in the world of science as the 2005 Nobel Prize winner awarded for his great achievements in Chemistry.



Rocklage is also a great science publisher who has been credited for the publishing of several peer-reviewed research publications, and of being behind the invention of over 30 American patents. He is a member of the board of associates at Whitehead Institute, which as a nonprofit institution, focused on supporting biomedical research projects. These are just some of the achievements of Dr. Scott M. Rocklage that make him one of the most influential and respected personalities in the field of healthcare management in the U.S.
