Overseas and Domestic Expansion Happening for OSI Group

When it comes to food production companies, few are as large or successful as OSI Group. You have probably eaten many delicious items from this company and not even known it. That’s because their big clients include food and restaurant giants as well as grocery stores around the world. With 65 facilities in over 17 countries, OSI Group is a powerhouse that sources, produces, and distributes their unique and innovative offerings to Starbucks, Subway, McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, and more.

This growth is because of their high quality standards and production practices. The company has won a number of awards for their safety standardization in plants globally. Most of their locations have some kind of metal detector or xray technology to ensure that foreign objects don’t end up in the food product. This gives companies and consumers a lot of confidence in this company.

Adding to that growth recently was their buy out of the Dutch Company Baho Foods as well as Flagship Europe. Baho has German factories and facilities, while servicing over 17 countries in Europe with various products. Flagship is known for their pies, pastries, and condiments. With their sights set on Germany and Spain next, OSI promises to continue to grow their operations and employ more people.

Speaking of employment, OSI gives jobs to 20,000 people around the world. But if that wasn’t enough, they recently saved 500 jobs domestically. They bought out an old Tyson factory that was in danger of being shut down. Now, by purchasing the plant for $7.4 million, the Chicago factory will continue to operate and bring value to those consumers.

When asked what the secret of the success of the company was, the CEO Sheldon Lavin said that their high standards for internal processes drove their decisions. They always make sure safety standards and processes are operating at full capacity to deliver unique, fresh offerings in the culinary space. By dynamically combining technology, arbitrage, and human capital, the company is able to deliver unmatched value.

Of course, even though the company is slated for more than $6.4 billion in revenue this year alone, they aren’t only concerned with profit. Instead, the company is active in the community. They have partnered with Ronald McDonald House and Feeding America to ensure that the community is getting their fair share. After all, OSI didn’t get this big without making sure people all around the globe were having their needs met.
