Dr. David Samadi Uses Robots To Perform Cutting-Edge Prostate Cancer Surgery

Dr. David Samadi grew up in Iran but moved to the United States after the Iranian Revolution. Once in the U.S.A., he went to high school in Roslyn, New York and then studied at Stony Brook University where he received his degree in biochemistry. After this, he went on to earn a Master’s Degree while attending S.U.N.Y., Stony Brook School of Medicine. He eventually trained in Urology at Montefiore Medical Center to finish up his postgraduate training and then studied at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine to finish his proctology training.

Dr. David Samadi has shown himself to be a compassionate and focused prostate surgeon who has helped countless men by treating prostate cancer. He has performed over 7000 robotic prostate surgeries and has an extremely high rate of ridding men of prostate cancer without a lot of the issues that come from conventional prostate cancer surgery. Not only is Dr. David Samadi a leading prostage surgeon in New York, but he is known, globally, as the only surgeon that uses the da Vinci robotic system as well as his patented SMART surgery. In recent years, he has put together a radio show along with the website, where he educates people about the latest happenings in the world of health and wellness.

Dr. David Samadi has revealed that while many surgeons use the nerve sparing prostate surgery procedure, which involves peeling off some of the nerves on the prostate before surgery, he does not employ this technique. The reason he doesn’t use this technique is because it can cause a lot of issues for men, afterwards, including problems like impotence and incontinence. Samadi commented that these issues are exactly what keep a lot of men from seeking surgical treatment in the first place, and so he has decided to remove that fear by using his own SMART procedure that does not involve removing the nerves on the prostate.

Dr. David Samadi will sometimes have ideas that come to him in the middle of the night, and to remember them, he will draw up diagrams or other visual aids that he can draw on later. When he works with his team, the priority is always to be as efficient as possible rather than fast. He finds it nice to be working with the same people that he has over the years because everyone knows what their role is during an operation.
