Ryan Seacrest’s Media Career

Ryan Seacrest was born in 1974 and is an American radio personality, producer and television host. He is well for hosting the American Idol show. He also hosts American Top 40 program and KIIS-FM morning radio show commonly known as “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” Seacrest began co-hosting Live with Kelly and Ryan permanently in May, 2017.

Before establishing such a high profile, Seacrest had attended the University of Georgia in 1992 where he studied journalism. At the age of nineteen he left the university and moved to Hollywood to pursue his broadcasting career. It was until 2016 when Seacrest (@RyanSeacrest) was awarded an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from University of Georgia where he also gave the graduation starting speech.

Ryan began television hosting in 1993 when he hosted ESPN’s first season Radical Outdoor Challenge. From 1994 Ryan hosted three kid’s game shows until 1997. In 2001, he hosted Ultimate Challenge, a reality television program which was shown Spike (TNN then) until 2003.

It was in 2002 when Seacrest career attained another milestone by accepting to be a co-host of American Idol. Shortly after in 2003, he became the show’s main host. He hosted the show for a while and in 2009 he signed a $45 million deal with CKX to continue being the host. That deal made him the highest paid television host then. Again in 2012, he signed another deal to remain in the show for two more years. When the deal was over Seacrest signed yet another deal that would see him host the show for an year with one more optional one. In july 2017, during a show with Live with Kelly and Ryan, Seacrest announced he would be hosting an idol reboot. Despite all these deals with American idol, Ryan was running a few other errands like in 2005 he became the executive producer and co-host of ABC’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.

Seacrest (@ryanseacrest) has hosted so many shows over the years and has become a very prominent icon in the media industry. It has seen him scoop numerous awards like winning an Emmy in 2010 for producing Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution. It is fair to say that Seacrest has had a very successful career.
